REGENERATE AUSTRALIA
Since 2019, we have partnered with Regenerate Australia (formerly Carbon Positive Australia). We started supporting this initiative to help connect our sustainability ambitions with meaningful local environmental action in Australia.
Impactful & Professional
Regenerate Australia enables organisations, communities and individuals to take meaningful climate action through large-scale ecosystem restoration. Their work goes beyond tree planting; they regenerate landscapes, strengthen biodiversity and deliver measurable climate outcomes grounded in Nature. Community. Carbon.
Through this work, Planting native seedlings that grow into biodiverse, climate resistant habitats for native wildlife while contibuting to expanding national conservation and and nature positive outcomes across Australia.
Forbo chose to support Regenerate Australia because the initiative reflects our broader commitment to creating positive environmental impact beyond the product itself. By combining Marmoleum’s climate positive credentials with local ecosystem restoration, the partnership connects global sustainability ambitions with meaningful action on the ground in Australia.

As David Blakemore, National Marketing and Sustainability Manager Australia/New Zealand, explains: “For us, it was important that Marmoleum not only delivers strong environmental performance as a product, but also contributes to local regeneration and biodiversity outcomes in Australia. This partnership allows us to support projects that align with the growing focus on nature positive design and more sustainable construction practices.”
Climate Positive by Nature
We’re proud that all Marmoleum projects in Australia help extend our positive impact beyond the product itself, by supporting Regenerate Australia’s large scale on-the-ground restoration efforts, helping plant, monitor and regenerate the degraded land.
Marmoleum is climate positive cradle to gate without offsetting, which means from the raw material origins to the final product, without buying carbon credits.
Our Marmoleum floors are made from 98% natural raw materials such as linseed oil, wood flour, limestone, resin and jute. Marmoleum is unique as it has CO₂ uptake in the product itself. The photosynthesis of the bio-based materials used in Marmoleum provides CO2 uptake that exceeds the CO₂ emissions created by transportation and production processing. Therefore, Marmoleum is climate positive (or carbon negative) from cradle to gate.
In addition to manufacturing a product with a carbon footprint of – 1.57 kg CO₂e/m² cradle to gate without offsetting (see the EPD), in Australia we go a step further by supporting local ecosystem restoration through our partnership with Regenerate Australia.
Mission
Support local communities in adopting a more sustainable approach to a healthy environment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Our positive impact in 2025
In 2025, Forbo contributed to planting 26,713 native trees in Australia.
Where our trees are being planted
Native saplings are planted across various parcels of land, including Eurardy - a special place and part of the South West Botanical Province of Western Australia.
